The WWE Bad Blood 2024 didn’t progress as anticipated for Rhea Ripley. Despite emerging victorious over Liv Morgan, she failed to seize the Women’s World Championship title.
This happened due to Liv Morgan’s unexpected backup in the form of Raquel Rodriguez, who returned to the ring. Morgan’s survival was facilitated despite Dominik Mysterio being suspended from a shark cage.
The Eradicator came close to winning the match but succumbed to the opportunity of targeting a vulnerable Mysterio, who had freed himself from the shark cage but got his foot entangled. Ripley, taking advantage of this situation, turned Mysterio into a piñata by attacking him with a kendo stick.
However, Ripley’s decision to not pin down Morgan and win the Women’s World Championship resulted in her getting in the line of fire when Rodriguez attacked her. The past of Rodriguez playing with Ripley and Morgan possibly led to the attack. Rodriguez and Ripley once shared a bond, which eventually turned into a feud, when they clashed at WWE Payback 2023, and Ripley defended her women’s world title.
Ripley was previously responsible for snatching away the tag team titles from Rodriguez and Morgan in July 2023. This incident is likely to be brought up as the cause of Rodriguez assisting Morgan in taking revenge on Ripley.
After being diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome and taking a break from competition since February, Rodriguez is finally making her return to the ring.
