He has not been on WWE television since May 2022, when the Usos defeated RK-Bro in a unification title match on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Orton had fusion back surgery last November that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time.

“It’s about time. I’m just glad he did [return] because I was communicating with him for quite some time when he was out with the injury because Kim [Orton] and Giovanna [Angle] are best friends. He was telling me, ‘Hey, man, it’s not looking good. I don’t know how my back is going to heal if my back’s going to heal.’ so he was a little worried about it for a while and eventually it started to heal up and now I think he’s okay, but it was pretty serious for some time,” said Kurt. “They didn’t know [if Orton would return]. Randy, he’s young, too. I mean he’s in his 40s, but he’s still pretty young. [Compared to] me and other guys that are wrestling like Sting in his 60s and Chris Jericho in his 50s. So yeah, he’s still young. He still has a good six or seven years if he stays healthy.”

Kurt Angle Shares Thoughts on Randy Orton’s Return at WWE Survivor Series

In the latest episode of his Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle discussed various topics, including Randy Orton’s return at WWE Survivor Series. Orton, who had been absent from WWE television since May 2022, is set to compete in the Men’s WarGames match.

Orton’s absence was due to fusion back surgery he underwent last November, which required an extended recovery period. Angle revealed that he had been in communication with Orton during his injury and expressed his relief that Orton was able to make a comeback.

“It’s about time. I’m just glad he did [return] because I was communicating with him for quite some time when he was out with the injury,” Angle said. Angle also mentioned that Orton had expressed concerns about his back healing properly. However, over time, Orton’s condition improved, and now he seems to be in good health.

Angle acknowledged that Orton’s age played a role in the uncertainty surrounding his return. While Orton is in his 40s, he is still considered relatively young compared to other wrestlers like Sting in his 60s and Chris Jericho in his 50s. Angle believes that if Orton can stay healthy, he still has six or seven more years of wrestling ahead of him.

The return of Randy Orton is highly anticipated by WWE fans, as he is known for his incredible in-ring skills and captivating persona. His presence in the Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series is expected to add excitement and intensity to the event.
