After seven weeks away from the ring, Randy Orton made his return to WWE tonight at Monday Night RAW. Unfortunately for his partner Matt Riddle, Orton was in no mood to be friendly by the end of the night.
"We WERE a good team." SAY IT AIN'T SO, @RandyOrton!

Starting out the show, Orton made his way down to the microphone but was nearly immediately interrupted by Riddle, who came down to tell Orton just how much he missed him. While Riddle began theorizing on just where Orton had gone and beginning to think of RK-Bro teaming up once again, Orton stopped him. Randy said that he had no intentions of teaming up together again, and that despite the “little buzz” they got together, Orton works better by himself.

After a dejected Riddle was denied, AJ Styles and Omos made their way out to the ring. Following some trash talk between the two, a match between Styles and Orton was set before Omos broke up a brawl between the two, leading to Riddle attempting an RKO on the big man and Omos instead chokeslamming Riddle to close out the segment.

When it came time for Orton and Styles to meet in the ring, the Legend Killer showed off just why he is such a legendary figure himself. Towards the end of the match, Omos pulled Styles away from an RKO attempt, but the referee didn’t stop the match. As Orton and Omos talked at one another, Riddle came running down to cut off Omos from interfering again. In the midst of the chaos, Orton was able to counter a Phenomenal Forearm attempt from Styles into an RKO to end the match.

With the match over, Orton and Riddle once again began talking in the ring, with Riddle trying to get a hug from Orton. As the crowd cheered them on, Orton gave into the hug, and allowed Riddle to lift their arms up a bit before suddenly hitting the RKO on Riddle. Despite their friendship, Orton is still the Viper he always was, and Riddle learned the hard way as to what that means as the show came to a close.
