This week on WWE RAW, Randy Orton responded to Edge’s challenge to a Last Man Standing Match at WWE WrestleMania 36. Orton said he’s been misunderstood in recent months. The Viper wanted to clear the air. “I lied to Beth, right in that ring,” said Orton. “You’re a junkie for your own ego. Adam Copeland is a junkie for Edge.” Orton said Edge was right; he was handed an opportunity. “I was handed an opportunity because of what my last name is,” said Orton. But he said his name didn’t guarantee his success. Orton recapped his accolades and said they weren’t handed to him. “I went from being the third-generation prospect to the three most deadly letters in sports entertainment.” Orton said he has grit, too. “Grit to me isn’t sitting at home for nine long years,” said Orton.

“Grit, to me, is longevity in an industry that seldom has it.” The Viper said he’s one of a kind. “Nobody has as much grit as me,” said Orton. “Everything that I’ve done, I’ve done it because I love you,” said Orton. “Edge, you may be writing this story but at WrestleMania, I’m gonna write the last chapter and end it. I accept.”
