Former WWE Champion, Raj Dhesi, popularly known by his stage name, Jinder Mahal, recently opened up about his exit from WWE and his plans of venturing into independent circuits during a episode of the popular talk show, “Busted Open Radio”.

Highlights from the discussion on the podcast has been shared below:

Raj Dhesi, reflecting on his journey with WWE, said: “My time with WWE has been quite a journey. I have spent 8 memorable years here during this last stint. Now, I am all set to explore the independent scene again, working on my own terms, choosing my own schedule and presenting myself in a way that I want to be seen.”

While discussing his anticipation towards touring the independent circuits, Dhesi stated: “I feel a great deal of excitement, considering I’m now able to bring my experience as a former WWE Champion to the indie scene. My last experience wasn’t exactly the best, with bookings coming in slow after 3MB. But this time, circumstances are different. I am receiving a lot of interest from multiple independent promotions. My schedule is getting packed, which is wonderful. In the last 2 years, my role in WWE was less active. I wasn’t utilized as a wrestler. They kind of put me into semi-retirement, hinting that I would be better suited to manage Indus Sher.”
