During a recent event organized by Monopoly Events – For The Love of Wrestling, in Manchester, England, ex-WWE Champion, Raj Dhesi, fondly known to fans as Jinder Mahal, disclosed his thoughts about the unsuccessful stint of Indus Sher in NXT and their subsequent exit from the company.
Following are some noteworthy parts of the interview:
Regarding the decision of Triple H assigning him to Indus Sher in NXT, he said: “Hunter once again was in charge of creative and he had this concept in mind. He essentially told me, ‘hey, I’m thinking of pairing you with Indus Sher in NXT,’ … Unfortunately, injuries sidelined me again and he assured, ‘as soon as you recover, I’m planning on teaming you with Indus Sher.’”
Discussing the moment he was told he would transition from wrestling to managing: “So, I was working with Indus Sher in NXT for about half a year and at that moment I was still wrestling … Then we progressed to RAW and subtly, I was informed that I would not be wrestling anymore, I was expected to simply manage, which felt like a low blow… these individuals are exceptionally talented but I believe they weren’t provided enough opportunity or time to mature into WWE Superstars.”
