During a recent guest appearance on the “The Takedown” podcast, QT Marshall shared insights about his association with Cody Rhodes and his current position in AEW, touching on additional subjects as well.

Here are some notable points from the conversation:

QT Marshall talked about his dedication to AEW and his refusal to abandon it to obtain a position with WWE. He reminisced, “I confided in Tony long ago when Cody first ventured into WWE. I would never leave AEW to take up an office role at WWE. … It isn’t solely about me, it’s about my wife, my dog. My brother transferred to Georgia, there are numerous things happening, I won’t just up and leave.”

Discussing his thoughts on WWE and his bonds with Cody Rhodes, he stated, “That’s the ultimate goal, isn’t it? As a kid, I only knew about WWF. I’m uncertain if that impacted my connection with Cody, but we’re still quite close.”

Marshall also talked about his comfort working for AEW, saying, “Ultimately, I was trying to find a reason to refrain from engaging in additional discussions. I am extremely comfortable at AEW; I’m comfortable with Tony, and I adore the team there.”

He shared a conversation he had with Rhodes about his frustrations at AEW and his consideration of returning, “I recall expressing my AEW-related frustrations to him, and he basically cautioned me against quitting my job just to join here. He advised me that it wouldn’t be a wise move.”

In a separate podcast episode of “Talk Is Jericho,” Big Bill revealed the moment he and Enzo Amore were informed of their promotion to WWE’s primary roster from NXT.

Highlights from that conversation include:

Bill recounted his journey with Enzo Amore at WWE developmental, “We relocated to Orlando and finally broke into TV, on NXT. We were unknowns, Enzo got crushed by Mason Ryan, but Dusty [Rhodes] proposed in the production meeting, ‘Let him cut a promo, that’s all I seek.’ Cena happened to be present.”

Discussing the time their “SAWFT” phrase became popular, he said, “We arrived, and the ‘SAWFT’ tag became a hit. The audience loved it and from that moment, the NXT crowd in Orlando became our fans. All it took was Cena doing that single promo.”

Speaking on how they discovered their promotion to the main roster, he recalled, “As WrestleMania [32] was nearing in Dallas, we were eager, wondering, ‘Man, we’ve been on so many loops. Are we going to be promoted?’ Finally, Hunter called me and Enzo after the NXT pay-per-view and broke the news, ‘You’re being promoted Monday.’”
