During a recent guest feature on the podcast, “Busted Open After Dark”, wrestling veteran Tommy Dreamer offered his insights into an aspect of the Death Rider character’s storyline on AEW Dynamite that he thinks lacked coherence.
In a recently aired episode of AEW Dynamite, a surprise attack on the Death Riders group came from Darby Allin, following a promotional exchange between Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy.
Dreamer shared his thoughts on this narrative move during the podcast.
Touching on Allin’s unexpected assault on the Death Riders, he said: “Darby launching an attack from anywhere is bound to incite a reaction, but what had the villains really done to warrant such an attack tonight? There were past instances of trouble, but their role was low-key in that particular episode. Hence, the audience needs to assess – in a real-world scenario, wouldn’t we boo Darby for attacking our villains without much provocation?”
Dreamer also reacted to Strickland’s remark in his segment on his whereabouts. Strickland stated he was in Stamford instead of Bridgeport. “Such errors happen”, Dreamer admitted, “You may catch a break once when the audience reacts with a groan, like they did for him. I’m glad he didn’t overreact, but there was this strange chant for Bridgeport, which was great. However, you need to ensure you don’t make such mistakes because, at the end of the day, missing that crucial free throw could cost your team the game.”
In other wrestling news, QT Marshall rolled out his much-anticipated diss track taking a shot at the Costco Guys, AJ and Big Justice. The music video premiere took place on all of AEW’s social media channels. Fans are eagerly waiting for the showdown between Marshall and AJ scheduled for the AEW Full Gear “Zero Hour” Kickoff event.
