Pretty Deadly Become New No. 1 Contenders To The WWE Tag Team Championships

In recent months, it’s been nothing short of pandemonium in the SmackDown tag team circle—a state of affairs that prompted SmackDown’s General Manager, Nick Aldis to give a rundown of all the twists, turns, and hostilities that have transpired, in a segment on this week’s show.

In an effort to bring some form of order out of this chaotic situation and provide some guidance to the division, Aldis made an announcement. Not only will The Street Profits square off against #DIY in a contest for the WWE Tag Team Championship next week on SmackDown, but also, a Triple Threat tag team duel would determine the next contender following that.

Pretty Deadly came out on top in this episode, besting Los Garza and The Motor City Machine Guns to snatch a future shot at the title, where Elton Prince pinned Chris Sabin with a backslide, delivering an unexpected twist.

Given the circumstances surrounding the setup, we could only speculate as to when the title fight will take place, and who Pretty Deadly would be going up against. Either Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, or Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford could leave the Olimpic Arena in Barcelona next week as the holders of the championship belt. As WrestleMania 41 looms, Pretty Deadly might have a strong shot at taking back the titles on The Showcase of the Immortals. There is still some time left for more teams to join the contest and shake things up.
