Predictions for ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024? | Daily Inquiry

Welcome to the latest edition of The Wrestling Zone’s Question of the Day! Tonight is the much-anticipated pay-per-view event from Ring of Honor, ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024, unfolding in the Esports Stadium Arlington, in the heart of Arlington, Texas.

The main question we pose to you today is a straightforward one: “What are your forecasts for ROH Death Before Dishonor?”

Feel free to drop your thoughtful responses in the comments section below.

As for my insights…

When it comes to wrestling shows that aren’t part of my usual watchlist, I usually start off by stating that my predictions are merely educated guesses. There may be key elements in these matches that were overlooked due to my unfamiliarity. I typically tend to focus on other shows, mainly due to the talent, level of intensity and production value that appeals more to my taste as a wrestling fan.

However, much like NXT’s significance to WWE, ROH’s standing as a sub-brand holds its importance for All Elite Wrestling and the general AEW scene. With this in mind, here are some prognostications, bearing in mind, yours might hold more weight, especially if you are more invested in ROH.

With that in mind, here’s my quick analysis.

  • Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs defeat The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Reynolds) — I could have left it to fate, but I believe that if either team is going to compete for the AEW/ROH World Trios Six-Man Unified Blah Blah Championship, protagonists like Rhodes and The Von Erichs are better suited for future episodes of Collision or whatever.
  • Atlantis Jr. keeps the ROH World Television Championship against Lio Rush, Shane Taylor, Johnny TV and Kyle Fletcher — Generally, new champions hang on to their belts. Of this group, none of them appear to be a clear successor, leading me to predict that Atlantis will persist.
  • Texas Deathmatch: Leyla Hirsch overcomes Diamante — A tricky one. Given the history between the two wrestlers, my money is on Hirsch, especially given their past Lights Out match which should have settled the dispute.
  • Wheeler Yuta keeps the ROH Pure Championship against Lee Moriarty — I’ve yet to notice anything remarkable about Moriarty. However, I believe there’s a reason why Yuta is the reigning champion and it’s highly unlikely Moriarty will change this.
  • Billie Starkz holds on to the ROH Women’s World Television Championship against Red Velvet — It appears Starkz’s competition is selected from who isn’t otherwise occupied. Red Velvet’s moment in the sun seems to have passed.
  • Athena keeps the ROH Women’s World Championship against Queen Aminata — I frequently predict Starkz as Athena’s most likely successor. It might be an upset, but I wouldn’t count Aminata out completely.
  • Mark Briscoe retains the ROH World Championship against Roderick Strong — I’d love to see Strong claim the title, but for now, Briscoe dropping the belt feels too premature. Strong serves to be an excellent challenge.
