At the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III, Mercedes Mone emerged victorious by retaining her AEW TBS Championship while also seizing Stephanie Vaquer’s NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship in an edge-of-your-seat Winner Takes All match. Honorably upholding a trend that’s seen an upswing in AEW and other wrestling companies where a fighter proudly wears multiple titles.
The geared-up segment did not end there, with the unexpected reappearance of Dr. Britt Baker, who returned to set the stage for a face-off with the now double-title holder.

Despite no words or physical confrontation occurring, the undercurrent was evident–Baker has her sights set on either of the two titles held by Mone, with the AEW TBS Championship as a likely target. An educated guess would suggest this face-off might occur at the forthcoming AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium, scheduled for Sunday, August 25, 2024. Alternatively, if a longer build-up is not in AEW’s plans, a clash could take place much sooner in a special episode of Dynamite, like the much-anticipated Blood & Guts on July 24th.
