Pete Dunne Out, Matt Riddle Will Find Temporary Replacement For Tag Title Defense On NXT
Matt Riddle needs a new bro before he defends the NXT Tag Team Championship on this week’s show.
As seen on The Bump moments ago, NXT’s William Regal confirmed Pete Dunne will not be on hand to defend the titles as one-half of the Broserweights in the previously scheduled match against The Undisputed Era. Riddle will now need to find a temporary replacement partner for the title defense but Dunne will be back when he’s able to return to the United States.
Dunne is the latest WWE Superstar to be affected by travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Jordan Devlin is also stuck in the United Kingdom right now, and Regal announced an interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament while things play out. During the announcement last week, Regal also noted a decision needed to be made about Dunne’s status as well.
