In a recent discussion on Maven’s YouTube channel, former WWE wrestler Perry Saturn reflected on his past relationships in the company. Specifically, he credited Terri Runnels for her pivotal role in his personal growth during their joint tenure at WWE.
The two were assigned as an on-screen pair back in 2000. Perry Saturn has distinct memories from that time, particularly of their early interactions and the candidness that defined their relationship. He revealed,
“She’s one of the first women that I really was friends with, because you know how lousy men can be. You always had that in the back of your mind. It was day one when we were grouped together. Terri was frank with me from the start. ‘Listen, Perry, I’ll do anything you want to do out there, but you need to understand, I’m not going to sleep with you,’ so I knew.”
When reflecting on his past struggles, Saturn discussed his drug addiction and how it affected his behavior. To avoid drawing unneeded attention, he never made advances towards Terri. Instead, he explains how she assisted in making him a better individual.
“Back then, I was heavily addicted to drugs. Seeking unnecessary attention was the least of my interests, so I never made a move on Terri. Terri did help me to become a better person. She is incredible. Following every match, we’d retreat backstage, and she’d promptly fetch me and my opponent water. It was something I never asked her to do, and she did it anyway.”
