Paul Heyman claims that Cody Rhodes has emerged as the prominent figure in the Rhodes’ wrestling dynasty, surpassing even his father Dusty in stature and popularity within WWE.
During an interview with CBS Sports, Heyman showered praise on the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion who staged a comeback to WWE in 2022. He quoted,
“Cody Rhodes carries the family name with such aplomb that he has become the most riveting and well-known figure. Three years ago, who would’ve believed such a turnaround was possible.”
Hehn furthered his point expressing that Cody’s return to WWE raised questions among fans- ‘Could they look at Cody without his father, Dusty Rhodes, coming to mind?’
Nonetheless, Heyman boldly infers that Cody’s triumphs have now reversed the roles. Dusty, instead of being known as the legendary wrestler, is now esteemed as the father of Cody Rhodes.
Adding a jewel to his crown, at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes established himself as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, an honor Dusty never experienced during his wrestling era.
This weekend, at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Rhodes is scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens.
