Pat McAfee Says He’ll Remember His WWE WrestleMania Match With Vince McMahon Forever

At WWE WrestleMania 38, Vince McMahon used SmackDown color analyst Pat McAfee a match versus an unidentified challenger. McAfee wound up beating Austin Theory.

He then dealt with McMahon in an unscripted match right after the contest, although Theory assaulted him prior to the bell. McMahon beat McAfee. Post-match, Steve Austin boiled down and dropped McMahon, Theory, and McAfee with stunners.

In a series of tweets, McAfee responded to the news that his match with McMahon was voted the Worst Match of the Year in the 2022 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards. He composed the following:

“Well … Me and Vince McMahon’s match at WrestleMania has actually formally been called “Worst (nonsanctioned) match of the year.

The old guy was MUCH more powerful than anyone might’ve envisioned. Capture me off guard a fair bit (and I was Cheap Shotted to begin all of it)

Fun Fact. The 1st time Steve offered Vince a stunner remained in 1997 … I was 10 years old, from a working class neighborhood, and it made me fall for business.
