At NXT TakeOver 31, the night ended with Ridge Holland laying out Adam Cole, with no explanation as to why. The following week on NXT, Ridge Holland arrived in a Mercedes and it was said that somebody paid him to do the deed.

Unfortunately, Ridge Holland was injured on that same episode and it appeared that that angle would be dropped. On the most recent episode of NXT, Pat McAfee revealed himself to have orchestrated a series of attacks that night on the rest of the members of the Undisputed ERA. Now, on Twitter, he revealed himself to be the man that paid off Ridge Holland to attack his NXT TakeOver XXX opponent, Adam Cole.

“Although I couldn’t be hands on with the dismantling of Undisputed Era and Adam Cole, I knew there was a way they could feel my impact. I can’t be down there every single day, so I hired somebody to take care of my light work. I hired somebody that’s younger, more handsome, and more built version of me; Ridge Holland. You all saw when he dumped Adam Cole’s body over the barricade and walked off. Who do you think bought him that Mercedes? That was me, you’re welcome Ridge. He got hurt, [thoughts and prayers] to him, I will not ask for a refund, you did your job, but now I had to look for a Plan B. Who should I call? When not the guy that took out my guy? Oney Lorcan, I reach out to him and said, ‘You wanna make a little money?’ They said no, they lose to Undisputed Era, they call back, we make a deal.”

Who do you think bought that Mercedes?

Whatever’s left of the Undisputed Era and whoever else from #WWENXT that wants some can come get some at #HalloweenHavoc on Wednesday if they got a problem with it.

Remember.. We’re the greatest. You suck. Cheers. https://t.co/eFfDy6WTLR pic.twitter.com/6zYkaW6oMZ
