WWE RAW commentator Pat McAfee has weighed in on The Rock’s return which has been met with a less-than-positive response from fans.

On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes stepped aside to let The Rock challenge Roman Reigns in a booking move that has drawn outrage from the WWE Universe.

On a recent edition of his “The Pat McAfee Show” podcast, McAfee explained to his audience why fans have been angered by this situation. He said,

“Wrestling fans are incredibly pissed off that Cody Rhodes was supposed to get the job done, finally. There is a title, the one that Roman Reigns has, that Dusty Rhodes was handed in Madison Square Garden and then taken away. Everything Cody has been doing, he’s been trying to get the title back into his family, seemingly going to have to wait another few months while The Rock, the biggest star in the world, the biggest star on planet earth will be taking on his cousin Roman Reigns for the Head of the Table conversation, which has been chatted about forever. I love Cody Rhodes, I love The Rock, I love Roman Reigns. I’m very torn on this entire thing. The internet was not happy.”

He continued, “I’m bummed out, I still don’t know what’s going to take place between now and WrestleMania. We’re all pretty bummed out for Cody, but also very pumped this is a Rock-Roman situation. I don’t know what’s going to happen. Obviously, in WWE, you can never know what’s going to take place. Certainly got people pissed off on a Friday.”

McAfee noted that there is still a long way to go before WrestleMania 40, which includes tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW.

On the show, Rhodes will face Shinsuke Nakamura in a bullrope match. Neither The Rock nor Roman Reigns are expected to appear on the show.

The Rock’s return to WWE has caused quite a stir among fans, with many expressing their dissatisfaction with the booking decision. WWE RAW commentator Pat McAfee recently shared his thoughts on the situation, shedding light on why fans are upset.

During a recent episode of his podcast, “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee delved into the reasons behind the fans’ anger. He explained that wrestling fans were disappointed because Cody Rhodes was expected to be the one to challenge Roman Reigns for the title. Rhodes has been working hard to reclaim the title that was once held by his father, Dusty Rhodes, and was taken away from their family. However, with The Rock’s return, it seems that Rhodes will have to wait a little longer for his opportunity.

McAfee expressed his conflicted feelings about the situation, stating that he loves both Cody Rhodes and The Rock, as well as Roman Reigns. He acknowledged that the internet was not happy with the booking decision, as it disrupted the storyline that had been building up around Rhodes and Reigns.

Despite the disappointment, McAfee mentioned that there is still a long way to go before WrestleMania 40, including tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW. However, neither The Rock nor Roman Reigns are expected to appear on the show. McAfee admitted that he is unsure about what will happen leading up to WrestleMania and emphasized that in WWE, anything can happen.

The controversy surrounding The Rock’s return and his upcoming match against Roman Reigns has sparked a lot of discussion among fans. Some are excited about the clash between two iconic figures in wrestling history, while others feel that it undermines the efforts of Cody Rhodes and the storyline that had been developing.

As fans eagerly await further developments in this storyline, it remains to be seen how WWE will address the backlash and whether they will make any changes to appease the disgruntled fans. In the world of professional wrestling, surprises and unexpected twists are part of the game, and it is this unpredictability that keeps fans hooked.

Ultimately, the outcome of this situation will be revealed in due time, and fans will have to wait and see how it plays out. Until then, the wrestling community will continue to debate and speculate on the future of The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes in WWE.
