In the recent installment of “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee revealed an unexpected interruption during Monday’s airing of WWE RAW. He had to urgently race to the restroom during a commercial break.
The podcast episode shared some notable moments, including:
The Incident: “Experienced a severe emergency in the middle of last night’s show in Dayton. Had to rush to the restroom during a commercial break and was able to return before getting back on air. We returned with a Bojangles advert lined up next, thankfully. I had sweat pouring down me. The sprint around the stadium had been gruelling, and it was sweltering inside.”
The Instructions He Received: “I was given clear-cut directions: during the countdown, I was to sprint back, get seated, get the headset on, all while being soaked in sweat. Cole warned me not to mess with the cups. They were Bojangles promotional cups. However, as soon as we were back on air, I was still sweating so I instinctively reached for the cups, making quite a mess. I noticed there were numerous cameras focusing on the scene. I fumbled trying to reset the cups. Despite the chaos, I was thrilled about the promotion for Bojangles. But I do apologize for the unexpected disruption.”
Regular Restroom Breaks: “Drinking enough water is essential to maintaining high energy levels. Besides, I enjoy a coffee now and then. Interestingly, Michael Cole hasn’t had to use a bathroom during a show in the last two decades. How he manages to endure three hours without a break is beyond me. I honestly feel I wouldn’t survive one full show like that. In the first 10 shows, my frequent bathroom breaks were the subject of laughter. Now, it’s just a part of my routine, even critical on certain days. However, this is the first time I’ve had such an urgent break. Thankfully, the recovery was fast.”
