The latest episode of WWE SmackDown, which aired on Friday, December 15th, saw a slight decrease in viewership compared to the previous week’s “Tribute To The Troops” special episode. According to preliminary overnight ratings released by Programming Insider, the show averaged 2.155 million viewers, down from the 2.29 million viewers of the previous week.

One of the highlights of last week’s episode was the return of CM Punk to the blue brand, which likely contributed to the higher viewership numbers. However, this week’s episode couldn’t maintain the same level of audience engagement.

In addition to the decline in viewership, WWE SmackDown also experienced a drop in the key demographic of P18-49. The latest episode garnered a 0.5 rating in this demographic, compared to the 0.57 rating of the previous week. These numbers indicate a decrease in the show’s appeal to younger viewers.

It’s worth noting that these ratings are preliminary overnight figures and may change when the final numbers are released. The final audience for the December 8th episode was 2.384 million viewers, and the final key demo rating was 0.63.

Looking ahead, next week’s edition of WWE SmackDown will be aired on FOX via tape delay. This means that the show will not be broadcast live but will be recorded and aired at a later time.
