O’Shay Edwards vs. Sledge Announced For ROH Week By Week

On the newest episode of ROH Week By Week, the company announced that O’Shay Edwards will face Sledge on the program next week. Sledge was recently voted the fans’ favorite Future of Honor star. This match will mark Sledge’s official Ring of Honor debut.

Edwards has competed all over the country in recent months, and with this match, it seems that he has officially signed with ROH. He has been a student at the ROH Dojo for a few years. Edwards competed at For The Culture as part of The Collective last fall. He has joined Shane Taylor Promotions, though the group mostly focuses on the Soldiers of Savagery alongside its leader.

Both Sledge and Edwards will hope to make a strong first impression when they clash next week.

Likewise, another compelling match will air on YouTube, but fans won’t have to wait much longer for this one. Brian Johnson will face Danhausen in a Final Battle rematch on Wednesday night. The match will stream on the Ring of Honor YouTube page at 7 p.m. EST.

Danhausen defeated Johnson via disqualification at Final Battle to earn a contract with the company.

Johnson recently spoke with WrestleZone writer Colin Tessier. In the interview, he explains where his disdain for Danhausen comes from.

“Since I was cheated out of it, of course I want a rematch, and you know, keep watching Ring of Honor television because I bet you, if they don’t listen to me soon, I’m gonna force them to give me a rematch with Danhausen,” said Johnson. “It’s only fair. I had him beat. I’m not poking fun. I legitimately can’t stand him and everything his bulls*** represents. He pays for a Halloween costume, and people think he tries hard because he does a couple drives here and there on the weekends, and they think he deserves a spot at Ring of Honor, a place where Daniel Bryan, and Nigel McGuinness…he’s a jackass and I’m insulted that I was having my first Final Battle match with him, to be honest with you.”
