Former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy has openly discussed his ongoing conflicts with his previous partners Trent Beretta and Kris Statlander. The comments were made during his recent interview with media outlet WHO 13, prior to the AEW Dynamite event being held in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cassidy’s poignant reflections from the interview are highlighted below:
Speaking about his past relationships with Trent Beretta and Kris Statlander, Orange Cassidy voiced his hopes and fears. “Optimistically, I’d like for the narrative to reach a point where I’m not continuously being roughed up, but realistically, I doubt that will happen. It feels like walls are closing in on me. Friends, who I once considered allies, have abandoned me and now intend to cause harm. The most painful incident, undeniably, was when Kris Statlander landed a punch on my face. We were heavily dependent on each other.”
When reflecting on the criticisms he has received, he admitted, “The criticism I receive in-between the physical confrontations often rings true. It has compelled me to introspect – have I not been a reasonable friend? This period of reflection has been deeply isolating. If you’re familiar with AEW, you’d recall my regularly changing team-members. These days, however, it’s like everyone’s left me, which is a strange and unsettling feeling. I am fortunately, grateful for the presence of supportive people within the AEW family like Willow Nightingale and Kyle O’Reilly – both of whom have broad enough shoulders to help me carry this burden.”
In this evening’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Cassidy is all set to form a team with Kyle O’Reilly and Mark Briscoe, pitted against Beretta, Kyle Fletcher, and Roderick Strong.
