On a recent episode of “iHeartRadio Philadelphia’s Buster” podcast, Orange Cassidy shared thoughts about his journey in AEW and the unique bond he shares with unconventional wrestling enthusiasts.
Below are some standout moments of the podcast:
Orange Cassidy’s perspective on professional wrestling: “My approach to wrestling is slightly different; I often see it from the viewpoint of someone who isn’t a professional wrestler. Traditional, die-hard wrestling fans may not always approve of my style, but it’s those who have a less traditional understanding of wrestling who seem to really connect with what I do.”
Why he believes fans connect with his character: “When wrestling newbies see a couple of guys in their underwear, smacking each other’s chests, it can seem a bit confusing. That’s where my character comes in – it resonates with them. They see me and think, ‘Ah, now that I understand.'”
On how AEW has supported his growth: “AEW has been instrumental in my evolution. You’ve witnessed my transformation if you’ve been following AEW from the start. I believe the AEW fans are partly responsible for my success and feel a sense of pride and ownership over it. They have been on this journey with me every step of the way.”
In a recent conversation with “Levack and Gaz,” Darby Allin expressed a desire to square off against Claudio Castagnoli in a singles match.
Allin commented, “In my view, Claudio Castagnoli is extremely talented and, in some ways, underappreciated. He’s always been someone I’ve wanted to face in AEW. There are so many opponents I have yet to encounter, but he’s certainly a priority on my wish list.”
Allin and Castagnoli are slated to compete in a tag team match on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite. Allin will team with Orange Cassidy to take on Castagnoli and PAC. The event is scheduled to take place at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire.
