In the history of the AEW International Championship title, with seven different reigns including the original All-Atlantic Championship held by PAC before rebranding, one name stands out – Orange Cassidy. Cassidy’s association with the title is almost synonymous, having held it for an impressive 471 days over two terms, almost double the combined duration of all other champions.

It can be asserted that until another wrestler makes as significant an impact on the title, it would continue to be associated with Cassidy, also known as The King of Sloth Style. In fact, Cassidy himself endorses this view.

During a conversation with Mark Freund for WHO13, while promoting the latest episode of AEW Dynamite in Des Moines, Iowa, Cassidy shared his insights on what the International Championship meant for his career. He proudly highlighted that he could offer an identity to the championship, which was previously ambiguous in its significance. He decided that the championship would be contended as frequently as challenges were presented. Furthermore, he mentioned other wrestlers who held the title – including PAC, Rey Fenix, Jon Moxley, Roderick Strong, and currently, Will Ospreay, who he praises as being the finest professional wrestler currently.

On being questioned about his experiences while defending the title frequently, Cassidy admits it was challenging, but it allowed him to display his versatility and provided an opportunity for lesser-known AEW wrestlers to gain recognition.

Regarding Ospreay’s future endeavors with the title and his association with AEW, Cassidy avows that he hasn’t forgotten the International Championship. Hearing the term kindles a sentiment in him that the title should rightfully be his. Despite acknowledging Ospreay’s prowess, Cassidy hinted at a potential rematch.
