On AEW Dynamite 250, MJF triumphed as the new AEW International Champion while Mercedes Moné successfully defended her TBS title.

AEW Dynamite’s 250th episode kicked off with a titanic struggle as Will Ospreay and Maxwell Jacob Friedman fought almost to the wire in a grueling one hour session. In the last gasps of the match, MJF managed to eke out a victory, his arm just barely covering Ospreay, and scoring a pinfall win which saw him crowned the AEW International Champion.

Utilising the Dynamite Diamond Ring, MJF managed to floor Ospreay for the pin. He was able to use the ring advantageously, after the referee Bryce Rembsurg had been temporarily incapacitated thanks to an impromptu collision with Ospreay, courtesy MJF.

Ospreay’s reign therefore ends after 52 days—a tenure that is the fifth-longest in the championship’s history.

In contrast, Nyla Rose’s fortunes weren’t as favourable. She could not overcome Mercedes Moné in their AEW TBS Championship match. Despite fighting hard, the ex-AEW women’s world champion succumbed to the Bank Statement, tapping out after Mone’s initial Lockjaw attempt resulted in Rose biting Mone’s fingers—a trademark maneuver of Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Post the match, Dr. Baker targeted Moné, disguising herself as a fan at the ringside using a Sting mask. As she tried jumping over the barricade, she was halted by security officials.
