Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson Reportedly Signs Contract With WWE

Could we be in the early stages of seeing the next Kurt Angle right in front of our very eyes? According to The Wrestling Observer, Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson as agreed to a contract with WWE.
It was reported that Steveson personally met with Vince McMahon during his appearance at SummerSlam a few weeks ago. The details are fairly scarce at this time, as no start date or additional details have been revealed regarding the deal. He still has remaining eligibility to wrestle at the University of Minnesota this year if he chooses to do so.
Steveson sent out a tweet earlier simply saying, “just put pen to paper” implying that he has indeed signed a contract even though he did not specifically mention it was with WWE. Gable is 21 years old and has made it clear in the past that he wanted to wrestle for Vince McMahon in WWE one day. His brother Bobby was recently announced as one of the newest recruits for the WWE Performance Center.
Steveson became the first heavyweight from the USA to win the men’s freestyle 125kg event since 1992, securing a victory extremely late the match when it looked like he would lose.
