It is time for another week of the Ultimate Power Rankings from both WWE and AEW. Who improved their stock from last week and who downgraded their position among the rest?

This set ranges from Monday (October 2) and to Sunday (October 8). This means that all the results and highlights from this week’s Raw, NXT, AEW Dynamite, SmackDown, AEW Rampage, and AEW Collision, as well as the results and highlights from WWE Fastlane, will play a factor in the rankings.

If a wrestler has a (+) next to their name, then that means that they moved up the rankings from last week’s edition. When there is a (-) next to their name, then that means that they moved down from the rankings from last week. If there is nothing next to their name, then that means that they stayed at the same spot.

Without further ado, let’s get into this week’s Power Rankings for WWE and AEW!

WWE TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS:

10. Tegan Nox

Nox is simply on this list because it’s great to see her finally on TV. She defeated Chelsea Green on Raw this week, and hopefully her program with Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship shows the fans and management just what they’ve been missing out on not using the talented star.

9. Dragon Lee (NR)

Lee has been everywhere on WWE TV, as a main roster call-up already seems to be in full effect. Lee beat Austin Theory on SmackDown and is still butting heads with Dominik Mysterio. The masked star is shining with the bright lights on him, showing that he has a bright future in WWE. Hopefully that potentially is capitalized on.

8. LWO

The LWO has an official new member, as Carlito came to the rescue to help Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar defeat Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits at Fastlane. Carlito looked in great shape, Escobar is still pulling out great in-ring work, and Mysterio is still the United States Champion. Nothing but positive for the LWO.

7. Damage CTRL (-1)

IYO SKY is still the WWE Women’s Champion after surviving the triple threat match with Charlotte Flair and Asuka at Fastlane. Of course the win was marred by the dysfunctional Bayley helping (and almost costing) SKY pick up the victory. With Flair being “screwed” out of the win but making Asuka tap without the referee looking and also Flair getting pinned, it seems the creative direction will in fact be a feud with SKY and Flair solo. Here’s hoping this doesn’t just lead to another title win for Flair against an up and comer, but who are we kidding, it probably will happen.

6. Ilja Dragunov (NR)

The NXT Champion is poised to make his first title defense against Baron Corbin. It’s still pretty surreal to see Dragunov as the top champion on the main version of NXT and not NXT UK. But it’s a great thing, and even though Carmelo Hayes is great in his own right, Dragunov brings something different to the playing field. Plus, Dragunov seems to be connecting with the NXT crowd as well.

5. LA Knight (-1)

The John Cena rub for Knight officially reached its main conclusion at Fastlane, with the two defeating The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. It’s still unclear whether Knight will get that title shot against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel, but what is clear is that Knight’s popularity is still at an all-time high, with Cena’s help or not.

4. Gunther (+1)

A familiar story occurred on this week’s Raw, as Gunther is still the WWE Intercontinental Champion after knocking off Tommaso Ciampa from the ranks of challengers. Gunther’s post-match attack was then interrupted by a returning Johnny Gargano. Gunther vs. Gargano? Must-see.

3. Seth Rollins (NR)

Rollins World Heavyweight Championship reign lives on with a victory over Shinsuke Nakamura in a Last Man Standing Match at Fastlane. Whilst the match didn’t live up to any high expectations, the feud as a whole between the two superstars has been decent. However, the feud really showed the downsides that Rollins has shown as champion. As for who’s next? I hope for a heel Drew McIntyre or Rollins getting cashed in on by Damian Priest.

2. The Judgment Day

Dominik Mysterio is a 2x NXT North American Champion after knocking off Trick Williams on NXT. However, the stable lost the Undisputed Tag Team titles with Priest and Finn Balor falling short in their title defense at Fastlane. The Judgment Day are still dominating TV though, and as long as their prevalent on TV, they will remain high on this list.

1. Cody Rhodes (+2) and Jey Uso (NR)

The team who defeated the Judgment Day stands at #1 this week. Cody Rhodes picked up his first title win since returning to WWE in 2022, and Jey Uso is a tag team champion with someone not named Jimmy. It is pretty remarkable and this may very well be the start of Rhodes “finishing the story” with Roman Reigns/The Bloodline.

October 9, 2023: Comprehensive Power Rankings for WWE and AEW

AEW TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS:

10. Rey Fenix (-1)

Fenix completed his nice International title defense on Dynamite, this time against Nick Jackson. Now Fenix faces trouble as he takes on the returning Jon Moxley next week. Fenix will probably lose the title since he wasn’t supposed to win it anyways, but anything can happen.

9. Kris Statlander (-4)

The TBS Champion took home a tag team win on Rampage. Statlander has dethroned just about every challenger in her way, so it will be interesting to see who and when will be time for Statlander to drop her title.

8. Better Than You Bay Bay (-7)

I loved this partnership. MJF and Adam Cole are awesome. Both Cole’s injury has severely hurt this program. MJF’s work seems weaker, and Cole’s comedy skills with The Kingdom have been too much. Both are still great talents but more is needed to get me interested once again.

7. Bullet Club Gold (NR)

Jay White is the next challenger for the APW World Championship and the rest of Bullet Club Gold have been entertaining and must watch TV. They’re great. Nuff said.

6. Ricky Starks and Big Bill (NR)

We have new AEW World Tag Team Champions as Starks and Bill surprised FTR on Collision to pick up the gold. Whether it’s because of Dax Harwood’s injury or not, we have new tag team champions and a date with The Young Bucks is on then horizon.

5. Toni Storm (NR)

“Timeless” Storm is the best Storm. Storm’s new gimmick has been memorable to say the least. With this new character, she picked up two more wins in singles action, first beating Skyy Blue on Dynamite and then Kiera Hogan on Collision.

4. Eddie Kingston (-2)

Kingston pulled off another ROH World Championship defense by beating Komander on Collision. Kingston is a great face. He’s easy to root for and his wrestling style puts fans in a frenzy from the jump.

3. Christian Cage (+1)

The work of Cage is awesome. He is the best heel in all of wrestling today and with the arrival of Adam Copeland (FKA as Edge), nothing is stopping Cage from continuing to shine in his revival in wrestling.

2. Bryan Danielson (+1)

Danielson, to be frank, has been kicking ass. Not only did he just have a 5 star classic with Zack Sabre Jr, but he continues to pull out great matches and wins with his most recent victory being against Kyle Fletcher. Danielson will now face Swerve Strickland in a #1 contender’s match for the TNT Championship on Dynamite next week.

1. The Don Callis Family (+7)

The Don Callis Family continues to be a mainstay on Dynamite, with the family adding a new member to its squad with Powerhouse Hobbs joining the fray with Hobbs attacking Chris Jericho. With the way this group has been treated in AEW, this may be the breakout moment for Hobbs.
