Previously on eWn, it was reported that Oba Femi made a striking comeback on WWE NXT Deadline, emerging victorious in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge that opened the event.
Post his triumph, Femi conveyed his strong desire to contend for the NXT championship and sent a daunting message to Trick Williams, stating,
“Right now, I’m poised to challenge for the NXT Championship. Boy, I have been eagerly awaiting this opportunity…. Trick, I am inevitably headed your way.”
Femi holds the record for maintaining the WWE NXT North American Championship for the longest period, a whopping 272 days, until his defeat to Tony D’Angelo in the month of October.
During the grand finale of NXT Deadline, Williams successfully kept hold of the WWE NXT World Championship, defeating Ridge Holland in the second-to-last match of the evening.
