Newly crowned All Elite Wrestling Women’s Champion Nyla Rose is coming to the defense of Jim Ross after some tried to paint his commentary as transphobic. Ross stated that Rose was the “king of the mountain,” after her title win on Wednesday over Riho. On Twitter, Rose stated that “king of the mountain” is just a phrase and that people are reading too much into nothing.
A woman can be “king of the mountain” it’s an expression. Chill.
Sometimes y’all read to much in nothing but still don’t know how to use their, there, and they’re pic.twitter.com/1365brutPp

While clearly Ross isn’t transphobic, plenty of people online have gone after All Elite Wrestling and Rose after her victory. A wrestling legend defended Rose on Twitter today as the former Goldust, Dustin Rhodes, came out in support of trans rights. “Sick of this [transphobia] crap,” wrote Rhodes. “My son is trans and it saddens me to see so many hateful people on the attack! Get over yourselves and [shut the f— up]!”
