AJ Lee, whose real name is April Mendez, commenced her career with WWE in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2009, followed by NXT, before graduating to the main roster in 2011.

Lee gained considerable acclaim during her time on the main roster, securing the Divas Championship title three times and holding a record-breaking title run of 406 days. However, she decided to retire early from WWE in 2015 due to health concerns.

Over the years, the question of whether Lee would ever mark her return to WWE has been the subject of endless speculation and fan theories.

In a recent report by eWn, it was revealed that WWE is open to Lee’s return and the final choice rests with the former Divas Champion.

In a recent interaction with “TV Insider”, fellow wrestler Cora Jade unveiled that she, along with NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, have been convincing Punk to persuade Lee to make a comeback. Jade was quoted as saying, “I don’t know. I hope so. I’m working on it. Me and Roxy are always badgering [Punk] about it. I know he is doing it to her as well, so we’ll see. If it happens, you’ll have to thank me.”

After bidding adieu to WWE, Lee channeled her energy into other fields, including creating comic books and penning a biography in 2017. She also made significant contributions to the revival of the WOW – Women Of Wrestling promotion.
