No one found it shocking, given the recent developments among Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans, when it was declared that these three heavyweights would battle it out for the NXT Championship at the forthcoming premier live event, WWE Stand & Deliver, slated for April 19, 2025.
The news broke during this week’s NXT segment. Evans asserted that he had knocked out Femi more effectively than Williams could have. He passionately stated that, given a few more seconds, he would have emerged victorious in the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline last December. Events would have unfolded differently, he alleged, as he would have been the primary challenger to Williams and not Femi at the WWE New Year’s Evil.
Femi countered, insisting that while Evans might be next in line in NXT’s future, for now, Femi’s reign was far from over. Williams, seemingly desperate to regain his title, attempted to disregard Evans altogether, hoping for a dual clash. However, when Ava revealed the Triple Threat match, he took it personally and immediately attacked Evans.
The Darkstate faction ambushed all three, their motives yet to be revealed. Given that Williams was also targeted, it might debunk theories of him being the hidden leader—at least for the time being, unless future developments suggest that it was merely a subterfuge.
Currently, the following clashes have been set for the WWE Stand & Deliver:
- NXT Championship Triple Threat: Oba Femi (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Trick Williams
- Six-Woman Ladder Match for the Vacated NXT Women’s North American Championship: Kelani Jordan vs. Zaria vs. 4 More TBD
- Match for NXT Women’s Championship: Defending champion Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. TBA
