Note On What Injury Caused Aussie Open To Relinquish IWGP & NJPW STRONG Tag Team Titles

Aussie Open were forced to vacate the IWGP and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Championships after Mark Davis suffered an injury that required surgery.
It was later revealed that Aussie Open signed a contract with AEW and prior to that, AEW President Tony Khan personally financed Davis’ surgery.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Davis suffered a torn meniscus in his knee for which he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.
It is expected that Davis will return in 4-6 weeks.
