The Senate of North Carolina has recently proposed a legislative bill inspired by Ric Flair. The objective of this bill is to investigate the potential for the establishment of a professional wrestling Hall Of Fame in the state.

Senate Bill 404, also referred to as the “RIC FLAIR” Act has bipartisan support. The legislative proposal comes with an allocation of 0,000 intended for a feasibility study. The initiative has been advanced by Senators Jay Chaudhuri, Danny Britt, and Ralph Hise. The allocated funding will be directed towards the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Should the bill see success, the department will have to table a report by the summer of 2026.

Senator Chaudhuri remarked that the bill endorsed the cultural and historical importance of professional wrestling to North Carolina. Additionally, he pointed out the state’s unique shared cultural heritage, which comprises college basketball, NASCAR and professional wrestling. In his words, the area of professional wrestling has yet to be fully recognized for its contributions.
