At the focal segment of yesterday’s WWE NXT performance, Je’Von Evans mistimed what was intended to be a surprise RKO stunt, as he leaped from the turnbuckle for a corkscrew, but didn’t properly align with Randy Orton’s positioning.
Undeterred, the consummate professional Orton hoisted Evans off the ground, flawlessly executed the RKO, and promptly proceeded to try and pin him. There have been instances in the past where Orton has admonished fellow wrestlers like Kofi Kingston (famously calling him “stupid” multiple times in a heated moment) or had issues with others like Mr. Kennedy. However, Orton’s evolution into a revered figure in the locker room and his growth over his lengthy career shows a difference in his reaction post-match this time.
Feeling guilty, Evans expressed remorse to Orton, who in response, calmly relayed, “It’s okay. You’re the man.”
A fan expressed their sentiments on Twitter, lauding Orton’s supportive response:
“Je’Von Evans: “I’m so sorry.”
Randy Orton: “It’s okay, you’re the man.”
Randy Orton understands that these mishaps can significantly knock a person’s confidence.
The manner in which Randy Orton reassured Je’Von Evans following the misexecuted RKO exhibits his true professionalism. ❤️#WWENXT”
Fightful Select recently reported that there are no hard feelings towards Evans for this misstep. It’s understood that although both parties rehearsed the stunt prior to the performance, at times, things just don’t go as planned. Owing to the overall commendable feedback for the match, this incident is not anticipated to linger for long.
