The NJPW’s tenure on AXS TV is drawing to a close, adding another entry to the long history of the wrestling program.
Renowned wrestling analyst, Dave Meltzer, disclosed on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that NJPW’s stint on AXS TV has concluded. This comes after the expiration of New Japan’s contract with AXS TV.
Interestingly, Meltzer pointed out that NJPW has asserted that it consciously chose to end its association with AXS TV. As their last contract came to an end, NJPW decided it was best not to renew its agreement with AXS.
Additionally, Meltzer revealed NJPW’s intention to scout for other potential networks that could better suit the wrestling program’s needs and objectives.
NJPW made a comeback on AXS TV in March 2022, offering new weekly episodes to its fans. Before this run, NJPW had a long history with AXS TV, where it used to broadcast its weekly program from 2015 to 2019.
