Nikki and Brie Bella, esteemed Hall of Famers from WWE, share how their previous job waiting tables at Hooters helped hone the skills that propelled their careers in professional wrestling.
Long before the Bella twins rose to the rank of Divas Championship in WWE, they were employed at a well-known eatery, Hooters. The Bella Twins offered insights into their past experiences in an interaction with The New York Post, and explained how their tenure at the restaurant helped them cultivate assertiveness that served them well in the high-energy world of wrestling.
Brie articulated, “Working there, you really owned your feminine energy. Confidence was key – you had to approach strangers and engage in conversation. However, a thick skin was equally important. Not just owning the confidence, but truly embodying it. You needed to handle ecstatic men, set boundaries, and take no nonsense from patrons. This experience instilled in me the courage to stand up for myself, command the room, and take control of situations.”
Pitching in, Nikki revealed, “It was more than just serving food. You had to add a dash of allure, asking teasingly, ‘Do you want more fries with that?’”
Having bid adieu to WWE last year, the twins, now known as Nikki and Brie Garcia, have charted their individual courses in the media world. Amongst their future projects, Nikki will be seen in the forthcoming show, The Traitors U.S.
Interestingly, they aren’t the only ones to switch from Hooters to the ring. Liv Morgan, who currently holds the title of Women’s World Champion, also embarked on her wrestling career after being scouted while working at Hooters. Indeed, the path to WWE stardom sometimes begins in unexpected places.
