Nigel McGuinness Needs To Prove He’s Bryan Danielson’s Equal, Darby Allin Talks Grand Slam

Darby Allin, a renowned AEW wrestler, was a guest on the popular “Busted Open Radio” podcast today. In the lead up to tonight’s eagerly anticipated AEW Dynamite episode, themed Grand Slam, Allin will be battling Jon Moxley for his AEW World Title shot.

Here are some bright points from the podcast:

Allin’s view on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam: “This is just a kind reminder to all about my capabilities and that I rightfully deserve such opportunities. I envision myself as the pillar, the face of this establishment, and for that, I need to be the title-holder.”

Allin’s partnership with DDP for physical rehabilitation: “My good buddy is DDP, and we always explore and try out every new advanced piece of kit for physical rehabilitation. I’m not merely living for the day, I’m keeping an eye out for the bigger picture.”

Allin’s thoughts about Jon Moxley: “His slogan on entering AEW was ‘this is a paradigm shift,’ and I expect people to see it in that light. I see myself as the embodiment of that paradigm shift.”

Earlier today, on the eve of the Grand Slam episode of AEW Dynamite, Nigel McGuinness used Twitter to express his need to validate his worth against Bryan Danielson.

Highlights from his tweet are given below:

McGuinness on his relationship with Bryan Danielson: “In the build-up to Grand Slam, I have left no stone unturned to prepare for this fight. I have ridiculed Bryan and berated him, but I have yet to admit the truth. That truth is that my failure and lack of success is my fault because I was too scared. I despised myself because I wasted 13 years that I can never get back. But it’s not too late.”

McGuinness’s aspirations to match up to Danielson: “My dream could still come true if you show up, Bryan — prove that I was as good as you. Regardless of the outcome, Bryan, you will walk out of Arthur Ashe Stadium as the AEW World Champion. But, Bryan, hand the ball to me, and don’t leave.”
