Nigel McGuinness has officially signed with AEW.
McGuinness was a top Ring of Honor star in the early days of the promotion and worked with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Takeshi Morishima, Austin Aries, Jay Briscoe, Tyler Black, and others. He is a former ROH World Heavyweight and Pure Champion.
McGuinness signed with WWE back in 2016, where he worked as a commentator for NXT, NXT UK, Main Event, and 205 Live. He was let go last year.
At last Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view event, McGuiness made his ROH return by doing commentary. AEW/ROH President Tony Khan announced today that Nigel had signed with the promotion. He wrote,
“Nigel McGuinness is a legend in pro wrestling, and now @McGuinnessNigel is All Elite! See you all TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork for a massive Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite, and I’ll have a very important announcement on TBS tonight!”
