Nick Patrick Names Biggest Matches He Called In WCW & WCW

Nick Patrick spent decades of his life officiating wrestling matches, but which matches stand out above the rest?

Following the collapse of WCW in 2001, Patrick would be signed by the World Wrestling Federation, and would even compete against Earl Hebner at that year’s ‘InVasion.’

Speaking on “Monday Mailbag,” Patrick was asked about the biggest matches he called and the choice from WCW was easy. He said,

“Hogan and Sting in WCW had to be the biggest.”

The Starrcade 1997 main event saw Sting defeat Hogan in the Icon’s first match in over a year to capture the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

The match was supposed to see Patrick fast-count Sting, giving Hogan the win, with the idea being that Bret Hart would have the match restarted following Montreal.

Unfortunately, Patrick’s count was at a normal place, making the involvement of Hart and the decision to restart the match seem awkward.

When asked for his biggest match from WWE, Patrick chose the SummerSlam 2004 WWE Championship match between JBL and The Undertaker.

Another controversial finish, the bout saw JBL use the WWE Championship on The Undertaker, but the Phenom was DQ’d when using the title on Bradshaw.
