AEW, a robust competitor to WWE in the wrestling domain, has carved a niche for itself by offering enhanced opportunities to its wrestlers.

Since its inception, AEW has roped in several free agents who were earlier in negotiations with WWE. Some WWE performers have jumped ship to AEW whilst few others have returned to WWE.

However, recently, WWE has on-boarded several erstwhile AEW talents like Jade Cargill, Ricky Starks, Penta, and Rey Fenix.

In his latest interaction with the Bill Simmons Podcast, WWE’s President Nick Khan spoke about the intricacies of handling a sizable roster with finite TV airtime.

Speaking about AEW and Shahid Khan: “With reference to the other promotional wrestling company, they do have a plethora of talented wrestlers and we’re thrilled about that. When the time is right and we have the contractual freedom to engage, we expect that a few of them would want to join us. We harbour nothing but respect for the father who bankrolls it and holds ownership of the Jaguars, among other ventures.”

Commenting on AEW’s overstuffed roster and scarcity of TV airtime: “That’s an approach we won’t resort to. We don’t believe in signing and sidelining people. We only sign those who we intend to utilize. If another organization prefers to sign and bench their talent, that’s their prerogative, but it’s not our style.”
