A lot has changed for Nick Aldis in the time between his two stints with Impact Wrestling, according to the British star.
Aldis returned to Impact earlier this year after leaving the NWA under controversial circumstances on January 1.
Prior to his return, Aldis had been with Impact from 2008 to 2015 under the name Magnus and is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
During a recent appearance on the “Generation of Wrestling Podcast,” Aldis explained the differences between his first stint in Impact and his current one. He said,
There’s a big difference between the Nick Aldis who left Impact Wrestling and the one who triumphantly returned at Rebellion, the difference being that you know, yes, I worked my way through every spot on the card in the company in my first run. Yes, I shared the ring with Hall of Famers, even retired a couple of them, but I still hadn’t really found myself,” Aldis said. “I was still a kid. I was 26, 27, and I was still finding myself.”
Aldis went on to say that he considers himself today as a “major upgrade” compared to his first run in Impact as Magnus.
Outside of Impact, Aldis is a two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, having held the title for a collective 1,309 days.
Aldis will challenge Alex Shelley for the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary 2023 on July 15.
