In 2024, Liv Morgan emerged as the top female WWE Superstar, securing the WWE Women’s World Championship, allegedly causing Becky Lynch to “retire”, and triumphing in the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis professed his respect for Morgan in a recent spell on the “Insight” podcast.
Aldis stated, “Liv Morgan, to me, is the MVP of 2024. I’ve communicated to her on more than one occasion, ‘You are dominating.’ A successful villain needs to be self-aware. It’s important to understand the impact you have when you enter a room. Liv Morgan is incredibly beautiful. That can sometimes be a disadvantage. But she came to understand, ‘I can make it work in my favor.’ I shared some advice – she didn’t need it, but I provided it all the same. I said, ‘Your aura reminds me of Shawn (Michaels) in 1997.’ Shawn exuded confidence. He was so skilled, you couldn’t say, ‘You’re no good.’ That was not the case. In 1997, he was the standout performer – ahead by a mile. Hulk Hogan was on top in WCW, Sting was doing his thing as Crow Sting, NWO was big, Steve Austin was on the rise, Bret Hart was Bret, but Shawn was at his peak and there was no denying it. He was incredibly talented in the ring. He began using that, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ and he was handsome. He would call out, ‘Your girl would leave you for me.’ That’s what great villains do. Liv has that same vibe. More women watch these days, and they say, ‘She is extraordinarily attractive.’ It’s entirely believable that she might steal somebody’s boyfriend.”
For the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, Morgan is set to lead her team, which includes Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae, in a WarGames matchup against Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi.
