In a fresh interaction with Comicbook.com, Nic Nemeth opened up about the prospect of making an appearance in NXT in conjunction with WWE’s collaboration with TNA Wrestling.
Nemeth, who performed for nearly two decades in WWE under the persona Dolph Ziggler, was discharged from the brand in September 2023.
In his own words, Nemeth commented, “I believe it’s more relevant for rising talents and individuals with unresolved issues. Given my 19 years’ stint, I don’t perceive any unresolved matters at NXT for me. However, if Randy Orton challenges me at RAW, I am ready to reconsider. At present, the fluctuating nature of NXT, where performers unpredictably come and go is something I appreciate. The chance that I may make a sudden appearance there and baffle everyone is tantalizing. The questions of what music will play and under what name I’d appear are intriguing, but secondary. The prime focus, I think, is on cementing the position of our long-term talent pool, irrespective of their organizational origin, then increasing our audience while enhancing our visibility upon their return. Thus, even as TNA world champion, anticipating my NXT appearance may not be a priority. Instead, I’d like to see others getting the limelight. Having been the NXT champion already, what could be my role there? Not being a champion? I’d rather do something I haven’t already accomplished. However, a surprise appearance could indeed create an unforgettable moment. As of now, performers like Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, and even Moose stand a good chance of making a splash. Keeping the audience guessing about who might show up next is one of the best parts of the wrestling scene. The unexpected turn of events with Jordynne Grace, for instance, was mind-blowing for me, one of the few episodes of NXT I was able to witness live due to having cable in my hotel room. The unpredictability is exciting for fans and beneficial for both organizations. Wrestling fanfare is at its peak right now with every company doing exceptionally well and independent shows packing arenas. Given the plethora of impressive talent available now, it’s an unprecedented time in the business.”
Nemeth is set to take on Moose, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Frankie Kazarian, and Joe Hendry in a six-person elimination bout for the TNA World Championship at TNA Slammiversary 2024.
