Following backlash from fans over the release of R-Truth from WWE, the organizers decided to revert their decision and bring him back into the arena. However, this moved has stirred concerns among high-ranking officials within the WWE.
Dave Meltzer, on a recent episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio,” divulged that there’s a certain fear among the WWE top brass that R-Truth’s comeback will set a precedent. According to him:
“They didn’t foresee this happening. Interestingly, it confirms the influential voice of fans. Now, fans have come to realize their power and the potential of hijacking the show, which is the exact situation that WWE management is apprehensive about.”
Meltzer furthered the discussion by suggesting that thanks to this instance, fans might feel empowered to be more critical of impending cuts. They might perceive that they have enough clout to reverse WWE’s decisions concerning performers, he said:
“Now that this has happened, it raises questions about future layoffs. In the past, fans may have been silent, but with the next cuts, I expect they will think: ‘If we voice our disapproval loud enough, maybe we can bring this guy back.'”
Coming back to R-Truth, he made his return in a dramatic fashion attacking John Cena during the Money in the Bank 2025 pay-per-view event. This incident resulted in Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso triumphing over Cena and Logan Paul.
