As we previously reported here on eWn, AEW has been promoting a live, televised event for Saturday, July 8 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The show would be a two-hour primetime series.
On the latest Mat Men Wrestling Podcast, it was reported that the new Saturday show would be called AEW Collision. The name was trademarked by AEW back in February.
The report also suggests that CM Punk is likely to appear on AEW Collision, or possibly the Rampage before. There have been tentative plans for Punk’s return to AEW for awhile now.
AEW’s new Saturday show would usher in a ‘soft roster split’ to allow talent who can’t get along or refuse to work with each other to work separate TV tapings.
Hence, theoretically, if someone wasn’t willing to work with Punk and the Second City Saint was on Collision, that particular talent would only perform on Dynamite or Rampage.
