Rey Mysterio has a new cartoon set to debut on Cartoon Network Latin America and it will be done by the Viva Calavera studio.
This new cartoon was announced during the 2020 Pixelatl Festival and the official Viva Calavera website has preliminary drawings of Rey Mysterio that are teased in a coming soon image along with a synopsis about who they are as a company.
Go big! At Viva Calavera! we’re all about those moments that make you want to jump up your seat and do somersaults; those adrenaline-rushing scenes; the amazing visuals that leave you screaming for more.
We live for stunning artwork and beautiful, thought-provoking concepts (ours or collaborations) in animation, video games, comic books, and advertising.
Our bread and butter (better yet, tacos and salsa): concept development, storyboarding, animatics, visual development …in a word: storytelling.

It is said that the series will be about Rey Mysterio teaming up with a young fan to fight the forces of evil that want global domination. There is no set release date for the cartoon but Viva Cavalera say their biggest obstacle has been the audio tracks as voice reporting, much like everything else in the world, has been greatly affected by the global coronavirus pandemic.
Prior to this, Rey Mysterio had then turned into a cartoon for the WWE Slam City cartoon series on WWE Network and Cartoon Network had aired Lucha Libre cartoons in the form of Mucha Lucha in the mid-2000s.
WrestleZone will continue to monitor the story and report any and all updates on this upcoming cartoon as a release date becomes available.
