More details about CM Punk being backstage at Monday’s WWE Raw in Chicago continue to come out.
As previously noted, Punk flew from Florida to Chicago on the same flight as several WWE stars, cleared the air with The Miz, spoke with several WWE stars, and briefly interacted with Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Pwinsider reports Punk entered the venue with WWE talent after being on the same flight as some of them, which is where he learned that WWE was in town for Raw.
Punk remained in the common area where he was clearly seen and never went into a private room. He shook hands with Triple H before asking if it was alright that he was there and wanted to talk for two minutes. Triple H allegedly said he had to make sure with the “big guy” regarding whether it was alright if he was there, a reference to Vince McMahon.
After being there for 20 minutes, security told Punk to leave, something speculated to be due to his long legal history with the company.
“For those who have asked if this was Punk trying to gauge WWE interest, we are told no,” the report stated.
Punk is said to be under contract with a “lengthy” amount of time left with AEW.
“One person under contract to WWE who saw Punk there said it came off as if Punk was just trying to kill whatever past heat there was between himself and Miz and theorized that may have been why he wanted to speak with Levesque as well,” the report stated.
