New AEW Interim Trios Champion Announced + FTR Explain Why They Turned On Cope, & More

Wrestler PAC suffered a potential foot or ankle injury during his fight with Swerve Strickland in last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. Due to this, AEW has named Jon Moxley as the temporary AEW Trios Champion on this week’s episode of Collision.

Next week, on AEW Dynamite, Moxley, together with teammates Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, will face off against The Opps- comprising Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK- to defend their titles.

During the recent episode of AEW Collision, FTR revealed their reasons behind their unexpected attack on Cope at Dynasty 2025. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood accused Cope of prioritizing his singles career over their partnership. The duo also publicly disapproved of Cope’s behavior and expressed their desire for his retirement.

In response, Tony Schiavone was brought into the ring and asked about Harwood’s daughter’s reaction to her father’s actions. Instead of answering, FTR tried to assault Tony but was stopped by Nigel McGuinness. Daniel Garcia also jumped into the fray, eventually getting knocked down accidentally by FTR, who immediately offered their apologies.

Moreover, Athena and Jamie Hayter successfully won their respective matches and advanced to the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament. The announcement was made during this week’s episode of AEW Collision. Hayter earned her spot by defeating Billie Starkz, while Athena secured her position by beating Harley Cameron. Athena will now face Mercedes Mone in the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite: Spring BreaktThru.

Konosuke Takeshita is also advancing to the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. He secured his place in the tournament by defeating Brody King in the main event of AEW Collision. Takeshita will now be pitted against Will Ospreay, who beat Kevin Knight in the first round, in the upcoming AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru.
