NCAA Basketball Coaches Make WrestleMania Bet For Home Advantage
The second night of WrestleMania is getting underway in just a few hours and a pair of college basketball coaches are getting in on the action with a bet to determine which team will host the other.
Rick Pitino, former Louisville coach and current Iona coach, is challenging his son Richard Pitino to a bet. Richard is the current coach for Minnesota. The winner of the bet will get to host the other school in a non-conference basketball game next year.
Originally, Rick said that he would take Brock Lesnar and give Richard Drew McIntyre but Richard said he would only agree to the bet if they flipped sides because Brock Lesnar went to Minnesota and that is where he coaches. Rick has not agreed to the bet yet. You can see the friendly twitter exchange below.
The Pitino family are known for being huge wrestling fans and current WWE superstar Mandy Rose was actually a graduate of Iona.
How about you reverse that and it’s a deal. Can’t root against a Gopher https://t.co/9jrj5FJ5AX

I just found out that @WWE_MandyRose is an Iona grad. Gaels always make the smart choices that’s why I know Mandy will walk out of the ring tonight with my man @otiswwe #Wrestlemania36
