During her recent stint on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Natalya gave insight into her current contract renewal with WWE in July last year, and her dialogues with Triple H regarding her future aspirations, among other topics.
Here’s a look at some notable moments from the podcast:
While discussing her decision to renew her contract with WWE, Natalya said: “As I was about to make this crucial choice, my contract was nearing its expiration date in June last year. Previously, my association with WWE had been uninterrupted since the last five years. My record speaks for itself – I have been with WWE the longest in comparison to any other female. I have never been on a prolonged break due to injury nor have I ever been dismissed.”
She compared her journey with The Miz’s longevity in the company and appreciates his consistent and reliable contribution to the entertainment. Sounding reflective, she adds, “I found myself at a turning point, experiencing a longing for more personal and professional growth. Even though I live a comfortable life, I find it hard to get complacent. I am always seeking more. Hence, at the time of re-signing, I expressed my desire for more growth and the need to take risks for the same. It’s better to risk and fail than to remain inert.”
On the topic of her discussion with Triple H about her future plans, she revealed: “When I shared my aspirations with the powers that be, Triple H was extremely supportive and understanding.” She also applauded his ability to narrate stories and asserted that the company is currently experiencing its peak period. Every show is sold out, every match is major, and the credit goes to the engaging storytelling.
She expressed her faith in the WWE and its new direction under the aegis of Triple H. However, she also emphasized how the onus equally lies on the talent to push their comfort zones and relentlessly train and study to keep the technique updated. Natalya emphasized, “The decision to renew my contract thus was accompanied with my optimism about the company’s new path and narrative skills. I am thrilled to ride this wave of change and take wrestling to a new height.”
