During a recent episode of the “Insight” podcast, WWE superstar Natalya opened up about the immediate reward mindset prevalent today, her impressive eighteen-year journey in WWE, the alleged underuse and dissatisfaction among WWE’s female roaster, and her hopes for more gripping narratives in future matches.
Reports on the apparent underutilization of female talents in WWE came up during Natalya’s interview. Responding to these, the accomplished wrestling star shared thoughts about how the current demand for immediate gratification impacts perception, her own viewpoint on WWE, and the hurdles inherent in producing a week-by-week show.
Natalya shed light on this, saying, “It’s important to remember that we all have a means of communication, especially in today’s time. Whether we’re on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok or any form of social media – we have this platform. Which is the beauty of this era, each individual can voice out their thoughts. Now, it would be effortless for me to use my platform to rant about my grievances, what I deserve or what I’m denied of… I’d have loved to be the inaugural Women’s IC Champion. But what truly matters is that there be a fitting story. I feel like in this era of immediate rewards where everyone expects everything instantly.”
Adding on, Natalya voiced her willingness to wait for the optimal storyline. She elucidated, “Persons will always have their own opinions on what we should or shouldn’t do, and what Women’s Division should be like. But, planning a week-by-week TV show is not a breeze, more so because there are factors behind the scenes that the public isn’t aware of. Injuries or no-shows can occur, or other factors can interfere with the grand scheme of things. Certainly, I’d be thrilled to contribute more towards WWE, but I also heed the fact that timing is pivotal. After being part of WWE for 18 years, I eagerly look forward to doing more. But, I also trust that when the timing is right, the right story will manifest. In fact, I think we are bracing for some major announcements, particularly relating to my upcoming matches. I know I’m creating quite the suspense; you’ll see that those stories will eventually manifest.”
